  • GRASSROOTS INNOVATION FOR TRANSFORMATION

The Grassroots Innovation for Transformation (GIFT) project by CCID aims at addressing youth unemployment and how crucial it is to the socio-economic development of Botswana.

  • This project envisions youth as change makers whose economic innovations and entrepreneurship could transform communities.

With support from the community and various stakeholders, CCID intends to provide workshops to identify available local resources and enhance skills through mentorship opportunities while helping develop innovative ideas to solve local problems. CCID also intends to set up skill training centers; all intended to impart skills and create employment opportunities to the youth.

The final phase of the initiative will connect participants to a community of stakeholders; prospective employers, the market, suppliers, etc.

Generation Cool

The Summer Camp for the Youth by CCID Generation Cool Project intends to develop and host a 3-day summer camp for the youth. Through team building activities, trainings with professionals and various educational workshops, participants are expected to leave the camp with a newfound knowledge on how to use their youthfulness to create a positive impact in their communities

The Civil Society-Private-Public Sector Forum (achieving vision 2036 through smart partnership)
  • The Civil Society-Private-Public Sector Forum (CS-P-PSF) aims at using this partnership to address some of our social problems. This forum is anticipated to add legitimacy through the bundling of resources, skills and expertise.

  • This pact in terms of public private partnership (PPP) can also offer government access to new resources; the civil society networks—increased funding, in kind support and technical expertise; and to the private sector—access to risk and expectations management, market and community development expertise and contract compliance.

Fix up your Hood
  • The Fix Up hood Initiative by CCID intends to work with people in various communities to rehabilitate and clean up their neighborhoods. With help from various stakeholders, CCID intends to organize monthly communal cleaning sessions of neighborhoods, provide recreational and exercise facilities to the community, increasing physical activity and the overall health and well-being of communities.

  • The plan is also to include sensitizing communities about waste management and health living. By working with the local government, CCID hopes to transform communities into friendly, fit and clean environments for the dwellers.
